David R. Hughes, MBA, CLF, LUTCF
Managing Partner

David joined New York Life in 2001 as an agent in the Mobile General Office. He served New York Life in the agent capacity for five years including two years working out of the New Orleans General Office. David was promoted to Partner in 2006 where he was the recipient of many company recruiting and leadership awards. In October 2009, he was named Managing Partner of the Mobile General Office. Most recently David was the recipient of 12 National Trophies in the last 2 years, leading the Mobile General Office from #107/120 in 2009 to #50/120 in the country by 2012. Effective March 11, 2013 he was honored with the appointment as Managing Partner of the Covina Valley General Office. In 2015, the Covina Valley General Office achieved Tier 1 status.

David graduated from Spring Hill College with a B.S. in International Business and a Double Minor in Spanish and International Studies. He held two varsity letters in baseball and basketball while finishing his coursework Magna Cum Laude. David's post graduate studies were completed at the University of South Alabama's Mitchell College of Business where he earned a Masters of Business Administration.

David lives with his wife Melissa and their children, Charlotte and Alexander in Upland. 



Simon Chang, LUTCF

Partner

Responsible for Recruiting and Developing new agents within the Covina Valley General Office. Simon provides performance review, situation analysis, planning and sales call assistance with agents. Simon finished as the #1 Partner in the country out of 300+ Sales managers in 2015 and 2016.

Sales Development Manager

Manages and coordinates professional development for the entire Covina Valley General Office. Eric coordinates the training curriculum of new and experienced agents.
